Behavior Development Activities

Tips to Develop Behavioral abilities in the classrooms

As per the recent report raised by the scientists of World Health Organization, classrooms of the Asian countries seriously lack strategies for personality development of students; and hence, seriously need to improve in the strategical implementation of Behavioral Development Activities.

As per the list extended by them, following research-backed strategies and techniques are “must haves” for the universal classroom management; and they can be noted as:

1. Model ideal behavior
A demonstration is actually stimulating student’s audiovisual skills. Studies have further evaluated that effective modeling can be helpful for students to understand how to react in such tricky situations. Accordingly, one of the easiest and strategic ways to depict modeling of some behavior can be to hold a mock conversation on a provided topic, wherein students are asked to:

•Use sufficiently polite language, through maintaining proper eye to eye contact
• Keep phones away from them on a silent mode.
• Let another participant speak first, without interrupting him/her.
• If at all there is a concern over each other’s statement, it can be raised in a respectful manner.

2. Help students to establish guidelines
According to human psychology, rules and regulations proposed by our own are generally not being disobeyed easily. Thus, teachers need to encourage all students and children to build their own classroom rules. It is always preferably asked students what do they believe and what they don’t. The survey of this do’s and don’ts will help students to follow the rules and regulations proposed by them, without any additional demand.

3. Rules for documentation
Distribution of rules in printed format should always be implemented in the class, in order to avoid further confusion. The list of circulated documents can always be reviewed along with the students, which will further promote the fact that their ideas have been respected at the same time implemented properly.

4. Avoid punishment in front of the class
The individual behavioral issues can be addressed differently, as this can hurt students emotionally making them reluctant towards the class and the teacher. Instead, students are to be asked in a different manner, to offer a friendly disposition, while immediately letting them know and understand that the poor behavior will never be tolerated.

5. Encouragement
The growth mindset can be promoted and emphasized to encourage students differently. Students need to work in a different manner through the delivery of short-term presentations and noting short-term points. The competitions through some eager learners in the classroom should be cultivated in a health manner.

6. Offer praise
The students should always be praised and acknowledged for the job that has been done through full concentration and acknowledgment. According to the recent study and investigation, the academic and behavioral performance can be increased to the great extent through

•Classroom inspiration
• Improvement of the self-esteem of the student
• Reinforcement of the rules and values that can be imbibed to see the desired change in the students.

7. Application of non-verbal communications
Yet another study has proposed that minimum application of non-verbal communication and improvement in the content delivery can help children to focus more and process the lessons with an implementation of differential strategic techniques.
