Comprehensive Student Development Program

(For Students from IV grade to IX grade)

The child-parent relationship has a major impact on all facets of a child'’'s development.  From birth through these years parents are actively engaged in the child’s development. At the age of 4th to 6th standard, the child’s thought process is still in its developing phase. The child may get drastically affected by events in the surrounding. Negativities may set in due to wrong interpretation by the child. Most of the learning takes place through imitation. Mannerisms are majorly influenced by many factors in the surrounding.  Parents are taking steps to ensure an appropriate child development.

During the age of 7th and 8th standard, along with parents the children also play an important role in personal development. This is a very crucial phase of childhood. During this period many physical, mental and emotional changes are taking place. The thought process has started developing though not complete. So it is essential that caution be exercised in developing a correct thought process. The academic performance of students in these years lays a firm foundation for their successful future. We, through our activity, aim to reinforce the efforts taken by parents as well as children towards personal development.

Generally, competitions are meant to exhibit personal excellence in a certain field. It is an effort to prove oneself to be superior to others. We intend to make use of this feature wherein students should try to become superior to others in terms of eliminating one’s own shortcomings and evoking a process of upgrading their efforts. The same digital program is available for students on an individual basis, who do not wish to participate in the competition. The only difference between a competitive activity and an individual course is that in a competitive activity a student’s performance will be compared with other students in the same age group on the basis of individual points earned.

A complete student development program (4Levels)

We, at Instill Forever, provide a complete student development program which is carried out in 4 levels.

Positive change or development is a gradual process as our own resistance to the change acts as a major constraint. So initially the students may find it difficult to perform as per instructions due to their current mindset and habits. This is the main reason why this program can- not be completed in a few hours or days.

In the first level, the basic routine activities a student has to carry out every-day are taken as a learning tool. Basic realization of self- development is the main motive of this level. This is because there won’t be any development in an individual without proper realization and involvement. Otherwise, the development process will be carried out mechanically and there won’t be any considerable result. During this level questionnaire pertaining to various daily routine activities and the necessary hints will be provided by us in order to draw a student’s attention towards many important aspects of daily routine work.

In the second level, the motive is to make a student realize that there is a lot to be learnt from daily events. It is to make a student understand that education is not confined to only academics or extracurricular activities. It is a concept by itself which every individual should nurture till the end of life. In this level, just like level one, questionnaire and hints are provided for students to sense, observe, think and find out areas that need a positive change.

After generating necessary realization, in the third level, students are required to select short term courses as per their choice or requirement. During these short term courses, the emphasis is upon bringing out a positive change out of a student’s own efforts. We provide instructions to be implemented daily and questionnaire for self-assessment in this level.

The fourth level is a maintenance activity. The main aim of the fourth level is that the positive effect established after completing the first two levels and suitable short term courses in the third level, should not be washed away with passing time due to a lot of negativities around. It is a fully personalized activity and carried out all throughout an academic year.

1st Level Topics:

Duration: 8 Weeks ( Rs. 1500 )

This is the first step wherein the efforts are made to draw a student’s attention towards carrying out all the daily activities neatly and with proper understanding. The main reason is to generate realization about being casual at large and feel necessity of a habit to do everything with proper knowledge and involvement.

Approach towards study, behavior at home/school/with friends and others, personal care, personal safety, effective use of time, using mediums of entertainment proportionately are a few highlighted topics handled within these competitions.

In our competitive activity a student’s effort to understand /follow instructions, identify own short comings and urge to find out necessary remedial measures is the winning criteria. Thus the competitive spirit is channelized to initiate efforts towards upgrading one-self.

Topics:

  • Approach towards study

It is extremely necessary for a student to have a positive approach towards study. Studying is something which can’t be done forcibly or without proper involvement. In addition to personal interest other factors like planning, time management, focus, hard work, grasping ability and a positive spirit are equally important to achieve the desired results. Knowledge of a subject can be imparted through teaching, but other important factors need to be instilled in a student’s mind by adapting right measures. Inability towards studies can cause a severe damage to the quality of life ahead.

  • Behavior at home

Students are most relaxed and like free birds at home though there are many important personal abilities that take shape through their behavior at home. Understanding emotions and responsibilities, being self-reliant, tidiness, handling things carefully, ability to obey and respect, being caring and considerate are a few concepts of critical importance to life which children can imbibe through their behavior at home.

  • Behavior in school

Qualities of a good student like self-discipline, paying attention, concentration and grasping of a concept take shape in school. Students must also develop skills to cope up with different personalities, handle competitions and be versatile using various activities in school. Also, many negative tendencies like disturbing others, damaging property, passing wrong comments can be identified and controlled in school atmosphere.

  • Interacting with friends

Sharing, sporting spirit, helping others, be a well-wisher are a few positive spirits students must imbibe out of their friendship. On the other hand, get carried away, blindly follow someone, imitate bad habits, disproportionate use of time are a few factors students should become conscious about through their experience with friends.

  • Personal care

Personal care for physical health involves cleanliness, personal hygiene and nutrition. These concepts are taught in school, but in actual may not always be practiced. Many aspects of physical care may be carried out casually, just as a daily routine, without understanding the norms and ignoring the ill effects. Personal care, also involve taking care of one’s character, habits, mannerisms and thought process. A student must learn to make use of daily events, behavior of people coming in contact and the changing circumstances for self-development.

  • Personal safety

At this age students are impulsive, over-active and must learn to take care of their safety. Students must be conscious and alert about their safety while walking on road, while travelling, while handling sharp/pointed/hot objects, while playing. As a personal safety measure, students must also avoid any interaction with unknown people and should not get carried away due to any temptations.

  • Effective use of time

Student phase lays a firm foundation to life ahead. So it is the most important and sensitive phase of life. Students must understand the preciousness of time and should be extremely careful not to waste time in doing worthless things. Students should define the tasks they need to carry out, plan their activities and allocate adequate time for every task. Understanding value of time will make a child punctual, alert, systematic and efficient. Also, knowing value of time will result in avoiding casualness, laziness and will discourage a student from chasing futile targets.

  • Using mediums of entertainment proportionately

Entertainment is one of the most important needs of every hard working person. At student age, children may get attracted more towards modes of entertainment due to lack of maturity. Using mediums of entertainment disproportionately may have a drastically bad effect on a student’s academic performance. Over using these mediums of entertainment may develop many bad habits, may have negative effects on the character and deviate a student from reality. If these mediums are utilized to proportion then it will result in a freshened mind to carry out the main objectives more effectively.

2nd Level Topics:

Duration: 8 Weeks ( Rs. 1800 )

In this level, efforts are made to draw a student’s attention towards an extremely important process of education, which is required all throughout life. In this level, the main focus is on learning something fruitful from day to day events. Ideally, at every age level students must imbibe many important abilities and skills which are responsible to refine their overall performance together with knowledge of academic subjects. This competition will serve as an instrument to draw their attention towards these important parameters.

Topics:

Art Of Learning

It is extremely necessary to make a student realize that any kind of learning, may it be learning academic subjects, sports, arts or developing skills should never be a mechanical process. There has to be a genuine involvement and participation from a student in this learning process. Students should have a proper understanding about the outcome to be obtained from the learning process. During this important student phase, if education is taken casually, leniently or handled carelessly then many important areas of development may not be attended to. Students may develop an attitude on the basis of imitation, obsession, fear or influence of any other external factor. This will reflect as limitations or deficiencies all throughout their life. In the surrounding, there are numerous negative elements and temptations that can slowly drive away students, knowingly/unknowingly, from the process of education. Genuine involvement, proper planning, time management, focus, concentration, hard -working and quick grasping ability are a few qualities of an ideal student.

  • How should students prepare themselves for education?
  • What will be the effects of taking education casually?
  • What can cause disturbance to education?
  • What input is required from a student for proper education?

Ability to learn from daily events

Every day in an individual’s life comes up with some new events and experiences. If these events and experiences are interpreted in a proper manner, one can learn many critically important lessons for the entire life. Students should ideally avoid casualness and upgrade abilities to observe, listen and read useful material. A habit of self-assessment points out one’s mistakes and short-comings. Students should be transparent with parents and teachers, should never hide anything and consistently work under a proper guidance.

  • Presence of mind, good observation, careful listening, habit of reading
  • Self-assessment
  • Work under proper guidance
  • Listen to instructions/Admit mistakes/learn from mistakes

What one should learn to avoid

Life is the most precious gift to every-one of us. Education makes us understand the preciousness of life and reveals us the pathway to live a happy, successful and meaningful life. One must always avoid or overcome anything that will cause a hurdle to this process of education. There can be many individual weaknesses that will result in waste of time, waste of money and many other irreversible negative effects. A wrong company or habit may result into generating a permanent disinterest towards many important aspects of life. So it’s a need of the hour to create awareness among the young generation to be alert, to recognize and avoid everything that can cause a severe damage to their future.

  • Wrong company/bad habits
  • Disproportionate usage of resources
  • Laziness/untidiness/casualness/carelessness
